A: Yes--then wait, after the outline stitches and set your fabric scrap over the body region, give it tackle-down, cut around the outline, continue stitching. The raw edge will be sealed with satin border.

A: Copy the shape of the propeller, move the copy a little in your editing software and lower the density of the stitches to make a lower-res shadow. The superimposition of such lighter stitches under the first line outline can imply a movement without repigging it again.
